Vashon Construction is a love story about the community that raised us.

Alex and Liza DeHaven grew up on Vashon Island, graduated from Vashon High School in the early ‘00s, and got married on Vashon in 2015. Since the very beginning of our relationship, we have worked alongside one another, renovating three of our own homes, while supporting friends through remodel projects for fun in our spare time. 

We opened the doors of our family-owned business in 2019. 

Unofficially, the roots of Vashon Construction stretch all the way back to 1990, when Alex found himself covered in dirt on a construction site for the first time.

We love driving down the street with our young sons, pointing out all the local landmarks we’ve revitalized over the years. “See that deck over there? Daddy built it!” “Look at that house — Mommy and Daddy remodeled it together!”

We promise to bring that same sense of joy and pride to every Vashon Construction project. Once you work with us, you become part of a family that relies on friendly customer service, good communication, and a keen eye for detail.

No job is too big or small as long as it’s right here on the island. We won’t take a ferry, but we will build you a seawall.
